Message from the Executive Director (April 2024)

Volunteers are the heart of our organization. We are effective in changing the lives of our CASA kids because of the commitment and dedication of our volunteer CASAs. This work is intense and draining. It is heartbreaking and joyful — on the same day.

I am immensely grateful each day for our volunteers and the difference they make to the vulnerable children we are privileged to serve. During this Volunteer Appreciation Month, I thank our volunteers for giving their time and talents to at-risk children entrusted to us by the court. You give voice to their needs and are a trusted adult in their lives. Public systems set up to protect kids are failing them every day, yet our volunteers are there checking on their safety and wellbeing.

In the words of one CASA child talking about CASA,

“I think you guys help me more than anyone in my entire life I honestly appreciate y’all. You guys are like my guardian angels. You don’t know how much of a blessing it is to have you guys on my team. It gives me hope and strength because I know there are people out there that believe in me. It pushes me.”

We appreciate our volunteers! Thank you, this Volunteer Appreciation Month, and every month.

In gratitude,
