Message from the Executive Director (December 2024)

Santa’s Wish for Vulnerable Children

During the cold fall and winter months we, at CASA, often seen heightened attention to at-risk children. Kind-hearted souls want to know how the holidays can be made merry and bright for children whose families are in crisis and for whom poverty has been mistaken for neglect.

Santa has been giving this some thought and shared a few. He wishes:

• All children lived in a safe, loving and permanent home.
• Children have a trusted adult in their lives to check on their wellbeing and give voice to their needs.
• Public systems set up to protect children would be able to do so all the time.

Until these wishes come true, CASA of Allegheny County will continue to be there for at-risk and maltreated children.
